Tours of House and Garden
We offer tours of the gardens and the house throughout the season
Gardens
Guided tours of the garden are available by prior arrangement. If you would like a guided tour of the gardens there is an additional charge £4 per person. The guided tour will be led by the Head Gardener assisted by the Seigneur. It will cover the plants used in the Walled Garden, the history of the Garden and the design philosophy of the grounds.
House
Tours of the house are available by prior arrangement. If you would like a guided tour of the house there is an additional charge of £8 per person. The guided tour will usually be led by Sarah Beaumont. Tours are limited to a maximum of 10 per group, but larger numbers can be catered for if sufficient notice is given. The tour takes about 1 hour, it involves many stairs and therefore not suitable for those with limited mobility.
Tour Groups
Tour Groups are most welcome. Please contact us to arrange your visit. We do not charge for the group leader. We can offer streamlined billing for your group either pre-payment or billing after your visit. If your group would like to take advantage of our guided tours advance notice is needed as tour group sizes often exceed the maximum number we can cater for, but dividing the group and splitting your visit between the house and garden often solves this. An early discussion about your requirements is essential.
Hathaways is not open every day of the week. Please check their website for further information. On days they are not the Island Hall (which is on your route to the garden) should be able to offer refreshments.
